Have you resolved to lose 15-20 pounds? Plan to start an
exercise program? Or just want to incorporate healthier
lifestyle choices - eating more fruits and vegetables, drinking
more water or decreasing fast foods? Congratulations on
taking the first important step - setting a goal. Here are
3 tips to help you attain them and keep you on track.
Anytime we set out to make changes, it helps to plan out
all of the small changes you need to make that will lead
up to reaching your goal. If your goal is to eat more fruits
and vegetables then plan out how you will incorporate them
at each meal or snack. Include fresh and frozen produce
on your shopping list, bring an apple and baby carrots to
work each day. As Michael always says, if you fail to plan,
you plan to fail.
Go public with your plans. Ask a friend to join you in your
effort so you can motivate each other. Make a pact to call
each other when you're feeling like giving up or caving
in to old habits.
If you have one bad day, don't throw all your hard work
out the window. Just start again the next day - take one
day at a time. Remember that it takes about 3 months to
make a new habit. Stick with it to attain a lifetime of
healthier choices.
